" My wife and I contracted with H&A Homes for the building of our ideal retirement home in Wonder Valley, California in June 2008. We outlined exactly what we desired in our new home and Mr. Dave Hughes personally and expeditiously tended to each detail, all within a very reasonable total cost. We have been extremely and very pleasantly served by Mr. Dave Hughes and the H&A Homes Team. Our project is now more than half completed and each promise from H&A Homes has been kept to the letter. The project is ahead of schedule and within budget. There have been no surprises or any last minute charges or changes. Mr. Hughes has respectfully listened to each new request and/or addition that we have made, and has graciously accommodated our wishes without making us feel awkward. It is now evident to us that Mr. Hughes is genuinely interested in providing us the most functional residence at the most reasonable cost; that he truly cares, and that it is not "just dollars and cents" to him. Additionally, a highly experienced independent local General Contractor visited the work site unbeknownest to H&A Homes, and inspected the construction of our project. His impartial assessment was that: "This is by far the highest quality construction I have ever seen and you were smart to contract with H&A Homes." He went on to point out many commendations and much praise for Mr. Dave Hughes and H&A Homes. Simply put, our new home is a top-flight, first-rate constructed house that has set the standard very high for every new forthcoming project in the area. It is obvious that my wife and I highly and enthusiastically recommend H&A Homes, without reservations, because we believe that in addition to tackling every project with natural passion and fairness, Mr. Hughes is a man of highest integrity and unquestionable standards."

" Dear Dave, I wanted to take the time to tell you what a pleasure it has been working with you during the past 5 years. It was so enlightening to work with a professional like you, someone who took such pride in seeing that his houses were quality built at every level, instead of just looking at the bottom line profit - at the sake of quality. It was truly a pleasure because of your high ethics and delightful personality."

" My adult children and I have been acquainted with David Hughes for over five years, and can attest to his professionalism, client sensitivity and construction acumen. When my home was destroyed during the Santiago Wildfire in October 2007, Dave was one of the first of family friends to volunteer for the tedious and sad chore of sifting through the rubble in hopes of finding any sentimental family treasures. When I had found temporary living quarters part-time with family friends in Orange County, part-time with my children, both of whom lived in Northern California, Dave volunteered to assist in any way he could to help me with the overwhelming process of “starting over”. I had lived in my home for over forty years, raised my family, and survived many close calls with both floods and fires during that time. With my sporadic long-distance schedule, Dave offered to help with clean-up of the property; sought bids for us, met with demolition contractors, helped us choose, and then managed the cleanup operation. At that time, my children and I talked briefly about the possibility of considering Dave as our builder. I met and hired an architect to design the “new house” and as this process neared completion, we asked Dave to participate in giving us a bid. We have spent approximately nine months in the planning and permit process, and during this entire time, Dave has been our “go to” man for construction related questions—all before being hired as our contractor. He has been polite, sensitive, and responsive to our questions and requests, has gotten us answers in a timely manner, and has volunteered money-saving options in a variety of building areas. We have now officially hired Dave Hughes as our building contractor and we look forward to a positive, economic, and high quality experience working with H & A Homes."

" The wildfires of October 2007 changed our lives forever and definitely changed the way we think about our belongings and life in general. However, one thing that did not change was our intense desire to have a well-constructed, energy efficient home to once again call our own. When the intitial shock of the fires subsided and we made the determination that in fact we wanted to rebuild, we were at a loss to determine how we would proceed to take on such a large and personally important project. Through an acquaintance, we were introduced to David Hughes of H&A Homes. Initially, David contracted with us to do the overwhelming task of demolition...gathering up the ashes of our lives and hauling them away. Not only was this emotional for us, it was very messy. David handled this project professionally, timely, and always respectful of its delicate and sensitive nature. He made the necessary decisions in our best interest to complete the project in a time frame that was reasonable considering the weather conditions. Designing the home was next; it was definitely a bright spot as we moved through this sometimes very sad process. With our architectural and engineering plans in hand, we set out to seek a reliable builder. Hearing so many horror stories, we were cautious and again relied upon our friends, coworkers, and acquaintances for direction and suggestions. Having successfully completed our demolition, David politely asked if he could be considered as a possible candidate for the actual rebuild. With our previous experience with him being good, we most certainly were willing to entertain his offer. Hid bid was submitted within our desired timeframe and certainly the most reasonable for the quality of home to be constructed. The construction began when scheduled and, with only a few exceptions, progressed as planned. David handled every step professionally and respectfully. He made constructive recommendations and was always willing to hear our ideas, thoughts, or frustrations. He negotiated the best price possible on any upgrade we decided to do and never made us feel small for not implementing any of his suggestions due to lack of funds. The project was completed as agreed and the result was more than we could have imagined. Our home has met and exceeded our every expectation and David had a huge impact on that result. With confidence, we would recommend H&A Homes to anyone asking for a builder that does high quality work and stands behind their product. David truly demonstrates "customer service" and a desire to do a job well done. H&A Homes would definitely be our "contractor of choice!""
